HPG Brands announced additional industry-exclusive partnerships from the company’s new Batch & Bodega Fresh line: Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit, Charleston, S.C.; and We Take the Cake, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Through Batch & Bodega’s Fresh partnerships, distributors have access to daily crafted fresh food from best-in-class makers, shipped directly to customers at one-piece minimums with customized gift messages, no set-up or drop-ship fees, and with all-inclusive shipping.
Callie’s and We Take The Cake both offer foods perfect for entertaining and sharing special moments.
“As we progress out of our post-COVID bubble, we want to add maker partners with food designed to be shared with friends and family,” said Jason Lucash, Batch & Bodega founder and chief development officer for HPG. “Although biscuits and cake may seem very different, both Callie’s and We Take The Cake are aligned in their ability to churn out amazing hand-made regional favorites.”
We Take The Cake, headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, is known for its presentation-ready layer cakes, bundt cakes, and decorative cupcakes. Frequently named one of Oprah’s “Favorite Things,” We Take The Cake crafts every treat by hand without artificial flavors or preservatives.
“We’re providing a product that helps people celebrate all the joys in their life and we get to be part of that,” said Kevin Petrovsky, owner of We Take The Cake. “When we say we do things from scratch, that’s just not a tagline; every one of our cakes is mixed by hand, decorated by hand, and is given individual attention.”
Perfect for celebrating birthdays, retirements, special occasions, or every day events, Batch & Bodega will offer a variety of We Take The Cake staples (Prize-Wining Chocolate 4-Layer Cake, Key Lime Bundt Cake, etc) along with limited-time offerings (Father’s Day 4-Layer Cake, Patriotic 4-Layer Cake, etc.).
Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit, another one of Oprah’s “Favorite Things,” is founded on the principle of hand-crafted hospitality.
“Biscuits are about gathering around the table and feeding your family and friends, and creating memories and traditions,” said Carrie Morrey, founder and CEO of Callie’s. “My hope is that when people try our Callie’s biscuits, they feel the warmth, taste the deliciousness, and can feel the love that has been put into the handmade process.
Callie’s biscuits ship frozen, designed to be heated on arrival, and are available from Batch & Bodega in flavors ranging from buttermilk to Cheese & Chive. Callie’s and Morrey will soon be featured in an upcoming 10-episode PBS series called “How She Rolls,” debuting May 13.
Callie’s and We Take The Cake join existing Fresh partners from Batch & Bodega, including Coolhaus, Sweet Girl Cookies, Red Velvet NYC, The Killer Brownie Company, Atomic Creamery, ‘Lette Macarons, Brooklyn Cupcake, and H&H Bagels. Additional Fresh partnerships will be announced monthly throughout the summer, with the next release slated for June 7.
