Boardroom Custom Clothing Launches Eco Apparel Line

Boardroom Custom Clothing, Vancouver, B.C., Canada, has launched ecoapparel.ca, one of the first collections of environmentally friendly custom apparel available in Canada and the United States.

“We have an opportunity to make a difference to our earth, our employees and our community,” said Mark Trotzuk, president and CEO.

Boardroom has been in business for more than 10 years and is an audited socially compliant company and fair trade manufacturer.

“We are at the forefront of environmentally friendly fabric engineering and development,” said Trotzuk. “Our 2007 clothing collection minimizes our negative impact on the environment without compromising quality and performance.”

ecoapparel.ca’s 2007 collection includes clothing made from bamboo fibers, eco-carbon fibers derived from recycled coconut shells, post-industrial recycled cotton fibers, recycled pop bottle fibers and closed-loop post-consumer and post-industrial polyester fibers.

Because the apparel is made with natural and recycled fibers, it reduces the need to manufacture new virgin fibers, reduces landfill waste and energy consumption and pollution.

“I’ve been working on bringing the Eco collection to market for over two years,” stated Trotzuk. ‘I’ve researched and tested countless eco fibers and collected certification documents and audits from all of my suppliers all over the world, showing a commitment to environmental stewardship and transparency that you won’t find from anyone else in the industry”.

ecoapparel.ca is a member of 1% For The Planet, an alliance of businesses that donate 1 percent of their net sales to worldwide environmental organizations.

“This is about simply making a difference,” explained Trotzuk. “If this venture proves to be successful, I will increase the amount of my donation and the eco content of my entire production. My initiative is to provide options to our customers, offering them a responsible choice that is less damaging to the Earth.”
