Sharon, Massachusetts-based Charles River Apparel, a leading manufacturer of performance activewear and outerwear, has announced the company’s initiatives to support Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The company has focused on directly helping its customers experiencing hardships as well as contributing to the overall relief efforts in New York and New Jersey. Partnering with some of its customers in the affected areas, the company has donated more than 1,000 apparel items in addition to a financial contribution to the American Red Cross.
The company also has offered individual aid to support its customers directly impacted by the storm and has encouraged those experiencing difficulty to call and speak with a customer service representative to discuss ways Charles River Apparel can help them rebuild their business such as extending terms and free sample replacements.
“The entire Charles River Apparel family was deeply saddened to hear of the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy and we wanted our customers who have been directly impacted by the storm to know that our family is here to help,” said Barry Lipsett, president and owner of Charles River Apparel. “We understand the road to recovery is a long one, but we are committed to supporting the relief efforts as best we can.”
Additionally, the company has encouraged its employees to become involved in the hurricane relief efforts. Partnering with the local Sharon Police, employees collected gently used clothing, nonperishable food items, toys and other necessities that were hand delivered by members of the Sharon Police Force to Staten Island residents.
