Charles River Apparel Pays Boston Bruins Bet with Lobsters

Barry Lipsett, president and CEO of Boston-based apparel manufacturer Charles River Apparel, recently made good on a friendly wager with a long-time Charles River customer, Kevin Flynn of TBK Promotions in Chicago, Ill. The friendly wager was made based on which hometown team would win the 2013 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs—the Boston Bruins or the Chicago Blackhawks.

While traveling in the Chicago area with Charles River account executive for Illinois, Dan Kramer, Lipsett and Kramer watched a playoff game with distributor TBK Promotions, wagering a shipment of fresh New England “lobsta” (lobster) if the Boston Bruins lost. If the Bruins made a comeback and won however, TBK Promotions would send authentic Chicago pizza.

After an amazing playoff series, Lipsett reinforced that goodwill is alive and well, coming through on his promise and sending a truck load of “lobsta” to Chicago in the spirit of friendly rivalry.
