Cintas Corp. got approval from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority to open a new distribution center in Groveport, Ohio, a town south of Columbus and a little over 100 miles from its headquarters in Cincinnati.
According to Columbus Business First, the expansion will create 69 full-time jobs, generating about $2.3 million in new payroll over the next three years. As part of the incentive’s approval, the business is required to stay at the new site for nine years.
The Cincinnati Business Courier reported that Cintas is the ninth-largest public company in the Cincinnati area, reaching $4.91 billion in fiscal revenue for 2016.
The tax credit, which is 1.09 percent over six years, is valued at $145,000.
Cintas was also on the short list of companies from which American Airlines employees could choose to manufacture new uniforms after the airline’s disastrous roll-out of new uniforms this year.
A new distribution facility will put Cintas in a position to distribute more items to clients, and should result in even more growth for the company.
