Commonsku, Toronto, recruited industry sales leader Samantha Kates as vice president of sales.
Kates has more than 15 years of experience working with suppliers and distributors with industry brands, including iPROMOTEu, Charles River Apparel and Fruit of the Loom. Kates also founded the franchise Wholesome Tummies, a technology-driven, first-of-its-kind concept that provides nutritious lunches to kids in private schools. The concept grew to serve over 100 schools and 25 franchise locations.
“As a respected personality throughout the industry, Sam has a relentless energy, and thrives at igniting growth and attaining spectacular results,” said Catherine Graham, CEO of commonsku. “She reflects much of what we represent: fiercely independent, someone who thrives at the fast-pace, positive outlook required to build a business today. Our customers are our passion. Anything we do (sales, development, skucon, content) is answered by the question, ‘How will this enable the entrepreneurs who use commonsku to grow?’ Sam’s a boost to the collective energy of the commonsku team. We will continue to develop a powerhouse of talent on behalf of our customers.”
“Commonsku is unique,” Kates said. “They are respected by the best in the business, have a superb product, and are fueled by smart, ambitious leaders and a fun culture. I’m ready to build on their success, accelerate our growth and contribute to the future success of the commonsku community.”
“We have been very methodical about growth at commonsku,” said Mark Graham, chief platform officer. “We only want to recruit those who deeply understand the distributor and supplier model, and also those who reflect our passion for sales. Sam will not only be an accelerator for our growth, but her experience and skill lends our community yet another professional to help expand their sales success as well. We’re proud to welcome Sam to the team, and we’re excited about her future contribution to our customers.”
