Yesterday, we reported that Hershey’s encouraged consumers at Austin’s South by Southwest (SXSW) festival to trade in their promotional items. Now, another company at the festival encouraged end-users to celebrate the (literal) fruits of their labor on tote bags.
Some people are very protective of their recipes, others are quick to share them with the world. At SXSW, Avocados from Mexico held a “guacamole showdown,” and let fans screen print their favorite recipes on tote bags to take with them.
According to Entrepreneur, more than 30 artists at SXSW attended the showdown to display their own guacamole recipes. More than 60,000 festivalgoers visited the booth, which provided a huge amount of brand visibility for Avocados from Mexico when people took tote bags.
By doing this, end-users received individual items that are unlike others. Their friends may have a similar bags, but they might not have the same recipes on them. They can also use them in the future when they’re trying their hands at guacamole recipes, and they’ll always remember the fun times at the festival.
