The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of branded frothers due to ingestion and choking hazards.

King Soopers supermarket in Colrado gave out the CocoaVia Brand Frother from Mars Symbioscience, Germantown, Md., as a promotional item in September 2015. The item uses a spring on the end to froth the drink. Mars Symbioscience received two reports of the spring detaching from the metal wand, though no injuries have been reported.

The brown frother has “CocoaVia” printed on the side in white lettering, and is about 8″ long. The recall only involves the brown CocoaVia brand frothers.

CPSC advised consumers to immediately stop using the item, remove the batteries and contact Mars Symbioscience to return the item for a coupon toward the purchase of CocoaVia products. The company also is providing pre-addressed return envelopes for consumers to return the item.
