The dust from the Black Friday stampedes seem to have settled, but a more intangible stampede is happening online today. Today is Cyber Monday—a day similar to Black Friday but without the need to camp out in front of a storefront for weeks on end in the hopes of a sweet deal.
While most of the Cyber Monday deals relate to consumer goods, like electronics and apparel, it does relate to the promotional products industry, as many straight-to-consumer companies that perform customization on consumer goods are holding special deals today.
Vistaprint is providing customers a 60 percent discount site-wide today. This includes a discount on a variety of products, such as business cards, marketing materials, stationary, posters, signs, clothing and bags.
Cafe Press, an online retailer of a variety of items, is offering discounts on apparel, tote bags, coffee mugs, ornaments, blankets and baby onesies.
Redbubble—which operates a marketplace similar to Cafe Press, where customers can purchase items, like apparel, bags and more, with logos and messages printed on them—is giving customers a 35 percent discount site-wide.

Typically, these spending holidays won’t have a huge effect on the promotional products industries, but since these similar, direct-to-consumer platforms are providing a service at a discounted price today, it could siphon business away from distributors.
If you are a promotional products distributor and you provide a special Cyber Monday deal, let us know what it is in the comments.
