There’s no easy way to take away the sting of postponing a vacation to somewhere like Disney World or Universal Studios. Disney, however, is trying to at least soften the blow a little by offering otherwise exclusive merchandise from its Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park in retail stores like Target.
We’ve covered the park in detail for its immersive nature, right down to the branded (or unbranded, in this case) merchandise.
WDW News Today reported that items like action figures and plush dolls, usually sold at the parks, could make their way to Target. But the items might still be a little different than their theme park counterparts. (Gotta keep up that exclusivity factor a little bit, I guess.)

Per WDWNT, items like collectible replica helmets and spaceships would be sold at Target instead of the park gift shops. Shop-specific items, like those sold in the Droid Factory or Black Spire Outpost, would also be sold at Target. These might include plush Tauntauns and Ewoks, and a Build-a-Droid version of R2-D2.
Theme parks aren’t the only places going the e-commerce route while physical locations are shut down. Japan’s first official Nintendo store in Tokyo has been a merchandise hunter’s dream, thanks to its stock of exclusive merchandise you can’t buy anywhere else.
But, since foot traffic isn’t really a thing in a lot of places right now, Nintendo has moved the merchandise to the My Nintendo online shop, according to Timeout Tokyo.
[Announcement] Some merch from Nintendo TOKYO can now be purchased via My Nintendo Store. From today, several Animal Crossing goods will be made available. https://t.co/8beWeRQHmo

This might be the new normal for a while, but it makes a lot of promotional items that were otherwise exclusive open to a wider audience, which means more brand visibility, and gives businesses that thrive on foot traffic a way of keeping their business visible.
