Ecorite Brings Organic Cotton to Industry, Donates to WWF

With a longstanding tradition of an eco-friendly product line, Toronto-based Ecorite will introduce a line of 100 percent organic cotton tote bags in three styles: the Eco-Tote, the Eco-Shopper and the Eco-Sac. The line will debut at the PPAI Expo in Las Vegas, Jan., 4-6, booth #6652.

When asked about the new line, Brij Kapur, president and CEO, commented, “Organics have been in the works for a few years now and we have been actively seeking organic sources that are cost effective. Now that organics are becoming more popular, we have been able to put together some styles that represent the values of ecological responsibility that we hold dearly while being very accessible in price.”

The Canadian debuts will take place at the Toronto Imprint Canada Show, Jan. 19-20, 2007 and the PPAC National Show, Feb. 11-13, 2007.

In other news, Ecorite has announced its alliance with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and will be donating 1 percent of all its sales to support the organization’s conservation efforts in both the United States and Canada.

“Environmental responsibility has long been a core philosophy of Ecorite, and we are glad that we are now able to provide our customers and our industry the opportunity to share our vision,” noted Kapur.

The 1 percent donation has no restrictions and will apply to all sales including stock, custom, regular-priced or sale items.
