Monday, printing and apparel wholesale manufacturer Ennis Inc., Midlothian, Texas, released its quarterly and yearly financial results for the period ended February 28, 2011.
For the year, the company reported a 6.2 percent revenue increase, or $32.3 million, over the previous year, with an 8.2 percent increase of $10 million for the quarter.
Much of the company’s increase in revenue can be attributed to its apparel business, which saw a net increase of 17.8 percent, moving from $235.4 million to $277.3 million. The growth of Ennis Inc.’s apparel business reflects the strength of the promotional apparel segment in the past year.
The company’s apparel sales eclipsed its print business, which saw a net decrease in sales for the period, from $282.3 million in 2009 to $272.7 million. Overall net revenue for the company was still up over 2009, at $550 million over $517.7 million.
