Key Takeaways
• Epson’s new SureColor V-Series UV flatbed printer targets sign shops and promo products printers by enabling direct-to-object printing on items like keychains, pens and signage.
• Its automated height adjustment, ability to print braille and multiple finish options aim to streamline production.
Epson has announced its new SureColor V-Series UV flatbed printer, designed to meet the increasing demand for smaller print equipment for printers doing signage, as well as direct-to-object printing for promotional products, including keychains, golf balls and pens.
The printer automatically detects and adjusts for the height of products it’s printing on, up to 7.8 inches high. It also can accommodate two 18-by-24-inch yard signs, prints braille for ADA-compliant signage and includes both gloss and matte varnish for finishes and embellishments.

“Many sign shops and print providers still rely on the time-consuming process of printing to adhesive vinyl, laminating and mounting to rigid substrates,” said David Bistrovic, product manager for Professional Imaging at Epson America. “For print shops, versatility is revenue. With the ability to print on so many different types of substrates, the SureColor V4000 opens the door to new markets, new applications and new reasons for customers to keep coming back.”
Epson has the SureColor V4000 on display at the ISA Sign Expo this week in Orlando.
As print shops continue to expand into promotional products, UV printers that can perform both direct-to-object decoration for promotional products as well as traditional print and signage can be appealing.
This comes only a few months after Epson released its SureColor G-Series wide-format printer for direct-to-film transfers, another growing trend in the promotional products decoration and apparel space.
