Facing Floods Raining Rose’s Hammond Finds Hope

On Thursday, June 12 the Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Raining Rose facility was hit with extreme flooding and subject to a mandatory evacuation of the area. The devastating floods have affected not only the facility but also employee homes. The company first gained access back into their facility on Friday, June 20.

While the business operations of Raining Rose have been temporarily interrupted, the company has already made significant progress returning to normal. Raining Rose has obtained temporary facilities and the sales, customer support and administrative groups are fully functional. Raining Rose will continue to have the same phone number and e-mail address throughout this process. Due to the generous offers of several key vendors, the company anticipates shipping orders for lip balm within the next two to three weeks. The company will continue to maintain contact with its customers to provide updates on the status of their orders.

Chuck Hammond, president and CEO, said, “This is a challenging time for Cedar Rapids, but this great community continues to shine. This will be a new beginning for our company and we will capitalize on the opportunity for a fresh start.” Hammond continued, “Our greatest assets have always our employees, customers and vendors, not the machinery sitting in our facility. Those can be replaced and we have already ordered new equipment.” Hammond concluded, “In fact, as much as we have grown, this gives us the opportunity to make some improvements to our facility and equipment to support our future growth. We have been overwhelmed with offers of support and encouragement. This is actually an incredibly inspiring time.”
