After much anticipation, baseball season is almost here. To celebrate the advent of Opening Day, we took a look around the league to see what MLB teams were doing to celebrate through promotional products.
For the games on April 2 and 3, most teams (seriously, just about all of them) are giving away magnet schedules. This is about the most helpful Opening Day giveaway, as it lets fans plan out the whole season. But, we’re looking for the teams going that extra mile and giving fans a little more.
Here’s what we found:
1. Arizona Diamondbacks “Giveback” T-shirt (plus a schedule magnet)
2. Minnesota Twins Opening Day Long Sleeve Hooded Tee
3. Oakland Athletics Opening Night Pennant
4. Washington Nationals Magic 8 Ball
Keep in mind, we’re only counting Opening Day, here, not each team’s individual home opener giveaways.
Out of these four giveaways, our favorites are the Nationals’ Magic 8 Ball, so fans can foresee the season’s outcome (finishing 50 games behind the Phillies, obviously), and the Twins’ hooded T-shirt. After all it gets cold in Minneapolis.
