According to 24/7 Wall St., accessory maker Fossil Group Inc. announced plans to introduce more than 100 wearable products spanning eight different brands. The products will be released in time for the 2016 holiday season for Chaps, Diesel, Emporio Armani, Fossil, Kate Spade New York, Michael Kors, Misfit Wearables and Skagen Denmark brands.
The non-display watches and fitness trackers will be supported with branded apps and two operating systems.
“One of the distinct advantages of a fashion company over traditional consumer electronics manufacturers is our product cycle,” said Greg McKelvey, chief strategist for Fossil, according to 24/7 Wall St.” We demonstrate remarkable speed to market, from development to launch, in order to meet the retail industry’s seasonal new product deadlines.
“The industry has been slow to adapt to growing consumer desires for new styles and options for wearables,” he continued. “With the diversity of major fashion brands we offer, customers will be delighted with the sheer volume of styles and options available when shopping for a wearable that fits their personal style.”
Recently, Fossil revealed its latest activity tracker, the Q motion, at South by Southwest. The wearable retails for $95, and tracks steps and other metrics.
