The Howard Alan Blum 5K Run benefiting the SAGGNY Foundation will be held in conjunction with Expo East May 21 on the Atlantic City Boardwalk in New Jersey. Suppliers and distributors unable to attend Expo East can still participate by taking part in the Howard Alan Blum Virtual 5K Run.
The Virtual 5K Run allows industry members to support the annual run remotely. It is being sponsored by FreePromoTips.com, SnugZ USA, Warwick Publishing, Fields Manufacturing, Magnets in Print and The Vernon Company.
“How does a VIRTUAL 5K work? Any way you want it to,” said Jeff Solomon, MAS of FreePromoTips.com. “You can be watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey and call that a 5K. You can ‘think’ about doing a 5K from the couch. You can ride a motorcycle on a 5K… whatever! It’s your virtual event. Have fun with it!”
Participants can post a picture of their virtual 5K on the FreePromoTips Facebook Page. The event sponsors will be giving away a few self-promo orders for your participation.
SAAGNY Foundation Chair Rhonda Blum’s brother died from cancer in 1978. In 2010 the SAAGNY Foundation put on the first Howard Alan Blum 5K Run. The run has an even greater meaning for Blum; in 2014, her brother Steven passed away from cancer.
“I greatly appreciate that Jeff Solomon from FreePromoTips took the initiative to create a simple, fun way for people to get involved and support a worthy cause,” Blum said. “While this event honors my brother’s memory, it really commemorates all those who have lost loved ones.”
The SAAGNY Foundation raises money for various charities including: the scholarship fund for industry children; Happiness is Camping, a camp for children battling cancer;Hilltop School a school for disabled children; and Waves for Water, providing water to those who need it.
Participation in this virtual event is $25. More information, a video explaining the virtual event, and a link to register can be found here.
