Geiger Sets Industry Yoga Record, Issues Humanitarian Challenge

Geiger, Lewiston, Maine, has set an industry record with the largest number of people participating in a single yoga session. Looking to make an impact throughout the company and beyond, Geiger kicked off the 2019 business planning season with every employee participating in motivational workshops and nearly 100 employees participating in a single yoga session.

Led by decorated soldier, speaker and yoga teacher Dan Nevins, employees were challenged to make a positive change in their lives and in business. In turn, Geiger made a donation to Warrior Spirit Retreat.

Nevins is a highly decorated veteran, wounded in Iraq in 2004. As a result, he lost both legs below the knee from an IED detonating below the vehicle he was riding in. He shared his transformational life story with all 400-plus Geiger associates in person and via live telecast. The day concluded with Geiger participating in a powerful yoga session.

“Dan challenged us to stretch longer and go further than we thought possible,” said Jo-an Lantz, incoming Geiger president. “We learned firsthand that we are stronger together. His personal struggles and outstanding achievements help to put other life and business challenges into true perspective. He taught us what we do makes a huge difference. It was an honor to have Dan play this important role as we plan for the future.”

Geiger has set forth a challenge to Paul Bellantone and PPAI, Tim Andrews and ASI, Jim Hagen of Sweda Company LLC and other industry business employees to participate in a yoga session and donate to warriorspiritretreat.org.
