Lewiston, Maine-based distributor Geiger continues its European expansion with a new location in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Geiger’s U.K.-based company, GeigerBTC, has opened a logistics office in Rotterdam as part of its overall strategic plan for supporting their global customers.
Strategically located for international commerce, the logistics office acts as a hub for deliveries throughout Europe and the Middle East. In addition to serving as a central point of customs clearance, the new office provides kitting, fulfillment and distribution center services to streamline global shipping and logistics. Its location positioned firmly within the European Union simplifies value-added tax calculations for E.U. customers outside the U.K.
Frank Murphy, managing director of GeigerBTC stated, “Having our own distribution center and office in Rotterdam enables us to further improve services to our many clients with operations in [Europe, the Middle East and Africa]. This also protects us and our clients from any potential consequences of Brexit.”
“Clients are demanding global services for their merchandising programs with local marketing support,” said Jo-an Lantz, president and CEO of Geiger. “The ability to provide a global supply chain is critical, and the new Rotterdam location supports our international strategy.”
