Ever since “Hell’s Kitchen” began to tear up the ratings in the early part of this decade, we have considered ourselves fans of its irascible host, the immortal Gordon Ramsay. Our admiration for his often less-than-cordial manner hit its peak in 2015, through a skit on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in which Julie Chen ended up dubbed “an idiot sandwich.” Four years and plenty of laughs later, the chef/restaurateur has decided to make good on the cruel assessment’s promotional possibilities through the introduction of Idiot Sandwich earmuffs.
For those who are not familiar with the comedic scene, we will relay that it is one of the funnier moments that Ramsay has pulled off, as he placed pieces of bread on the ears of his skit partner and inquired about what she should consider herself following a culinary mistake:

In terms of insults, “idiot sandwich” is right up there for us as a PG-way of expressing discontent, and its increasing popularity, which Ramsay explained through a recent appearance on Corden’s show, has led him to peddle the headwear item in Las Vegas. This week marks two months since the Promo Marketing team ventured to Sin City for the PPAI Expo, and, boy, are we wishing that the gathering were happening now so we could scope this promo product at the Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen eatery.
Resembling bread slices in composition, the earmuffs have the Hell’s Kitchen logo on one side and “Idiot Sandwich” on the other, leaving Corden to rib Ramsay about the splitting of profits and for us to consider making an impromptu visit to Las Vegas ahead of next year’s PPAI celebration. According to the decorated chef, the earmuffs are “flying off the shelf,” meaning that the already-rich Ramsay is adding even more “dough” to his bank account.
Winter has been rather mild here in Philadelphia, but Mother Nature likely won’t duplicate that kindness next year. So as we engage in a mental sifting of which items we can spend some of our tax return money on, we can conclude that we certainly “knead” this product. Chef Ramsay, are baking puns good enough reason for you to send up a few freebies, or are we just idiot sandwiches for thinking we could appeal to your good nature?
