Grateful Dead Release Paint-Your-Own Dancing Bear Bobbleheads

In promoting the catalog and legacy of the Grateful Dead, dancing bear bobbleheads have become a frequent resource, with the items relying on one of the band’s most treasured brand identifiers to delight fans new and old. Those objects, however, have been the work of others, denying aficionados the opportunity to test their own hands at paying homage to the Jerry Garcia-led group. Thanks to Kollectico and Bobble Boss, though, devotees can paint their own wobbling dancing bear domes in honor of the musicians.

Checking in at $24.95, the licensed Grateful Dead product can help fans be as traditional or as psychedelic as they want in taking up their brushes. A half-dozen shades are available to adorn the six-inch bear known to cut quite a rug, with Kollectico’s founder and CEO, Andrew S. Hazen, dubbing the bobbleheads a way to use his company’s creativity to honor that which the Grateful Dead displayed during their 30-year existence.

The band was a perfect example of the notion that musicians need not be steady chart-toppers to establish and maintain a loyal set of fans. Those supporters and the younger generation of Deadheads, therefore, will find this product a must-have, especially with the holiday season intensifying.

Knowing a few fans ourselves, we are sure that their results are going to be as unique (and psychedelic) as the group to which they have devoted so much attention. In the promotional products world, then, this is bound to count as a victory for the Grateful Dead, who will gain additional clout among their musical brethren who have likewise used parts of their musical journeys to put a few more bucks in their coffers.
