Counselor Top 40 supplier HPG (asi/61966) is continuing to expand its newest facility.
The Braintree, MA-headquartered firm is relocating its Origaudio and HandStands brands from its Salt Lake City, UT, production facility into its new, 135,000-square-foot center in Sunnyvale, TX, which opened earlier this year. BEST Promotions, another of HPG’s brands, is already housed in the Texas location.
HPG plans to close the existing Salt Lake City facility as the company works to consolidate and streamline operations. Origaudio and HandStands – both brands focused on tech items, as well as other products from backpacks to automotive accessories – are expected to be fully transitioned into the Texas facility by October ahead of the holiday season.
“This decision, as with any that impacts people’s livelihoods, was not made lightly,” said Chris Anderson, CEO of HPG and a member of Counselor’s Power 50 list of the most influential people in promo. “However, by centralizing our production in Texas, we will gain new capabilities, reduce operating costs, provide a higher level of service and position ourselves for long-term growth in an increasingly competitive market.”
A satellite office for HPG’s product development team, IT leadership, customer account managers and some other company leaders will remain open in Salt Lake City despite the closure of the facility. Impacted team members have been offered support services and, in some instances, relocation opportunities, the company said.
“Our elite Utah Sales team and innovative Product Development team will remain the same before and after this transition,” said CRO Trina Bicknell. “Customers can look forward to continuity with even more opportunity in a larger, more modern, more centralized Texas facility.”
With a reported 2024 North American promotional products revenue of $278.8 million, HPG ranked eighth on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
