Igloo is one of the biggest names in coolers, and it’s no stranger to the promotional products industry. But through a recent partnership, as well as an expansion on its own product line, Igloo is carving out even more space for itself within the promo world.
The newest promo campaign is a branded cooler and fanny pack with Whataburger. The Texas burger chain has been killing it lately with its co-branding, releasing things like fishing apparel lines and other products that have been so popular that people have been sneaking ways to get more than they’re allowed.

That partnership with Whataburger is a way to highlight to Texas businesses, too.
“Teaming up with Whataburger, our Texan neighbor for more than 70 years, has been such a treat for us,” Brian Garofalow, chief marketing officer for Igloo, said, according to QSR Web. “All of us at Igloo are big fans and regular customers; in fact, Whataburger being enjoyed in the Igloo cafeteria is a daily occurrence. And now with this Whataburger collection, which we like to call our ‘Whatacoolers,’ we’re giving fans a fun way to keep their drinks cold until it’s time to devour their next tasty Whataburger.”
Igloo’s role in Texas became even more prominent recently when it added drinkware products similar to its competition in Yeti.
While still relatively new to the promotional drinkware space, Yeti has built a reputation for its quality products as well as its proprietary nature. It has never been afraid to get litigious with it when companies have started stepping on its toes.
The new Igloo drinkware collection includes stainless steel water bottles, tumblers, mugs, a sports jug and can coolers. Yeti hasn’t totally cornered that market on the level of something like Kleenex or Band Aid, to the point where its name is synonymous with the product, but it’s getting pretty close. Igloo’s design is also pretty similar to Yeti’s, with the stainless steel top and bottom and colorful middle.

But Igloo, whose name carries just as much clout in the cooler industry, believes that it can contend with Yeti there.
“Igloo water coolers have dominated work and recreation spaces all over the USA for decades, so it was only natural to take our skills in hydration and building coolers with advanced ice retention to create an equally advanced drinkware line,” Garofalow said, according to PennLive.
The price point is noticeably lower than Yeti, with a 27 oz. tumbler running for $24.99 and can cooler for $15.99.
There’s no information yet about how it stacks up against Yeti, which is known for keeping beverages hot and cold for nearly absurd lengths of time. But, Igloo is a trusted name. If it expands this product line into promo, it could be big in the drinkware and beverage space, though it will have to compete with the many established promo suppliers already offering variations on stainless steel drinkware.
