IKEA ‘Store in a Box’ Promo Includes Swedish Meatball-Scented Candle

For some people, a trip to IKEA isn’t complete without the Swedish meatballs (no assembly required).

IKEA loyalty program members have definitely enjoyed their fair share of the furniture giant’s culinary trademark. So, naturally, they’d like their house to smell like them even when it’s not meatball night, right?

As part of IKEA’s 10th anniversary celebration of the program, members will receive a promotional “Store in a Box” gift, which includes Swedish meatball-scented candles.

If you’re a member the IKEA Family program, you can enter to win a box from now until Aug. 22, with 986 winners chosen. An additional 1,925 people will win just the candle, according to People.

Novelty scented candles have been all the rage lately. Miller Lite, for example, introduced a line of candles that smell like different bars while most restaurants and bars were still closed to patrons. That was a way to replicate a night out that many of us couldn’t experience.

Maybe this was IKEA’s thinking, since most stores aren’t offering in-store dining like they used to. Those IKEA Family members just missed days of shopping for dressers with goofy names capped off with a trip to the food court and a serving of IKEA’s famous Swedish meatballs. They must have missed it so much that now all they want to do is assemble furniture with questionable directions while the smell of IKEA meatballs permeates their home (and the particle board furniture).

The other contents of the “Store in a Box” promo are still secret, but the box apparently features items reminiscent of in-store favorites. Maybe it’s a toy cart with four rotating wheels that allow for sick Tokyo Drifting. We can dream.
