Video: Innovation Line Victim of Fire

Innovation Line, Culver City, Calif., was the victim of a fire last week. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call on the morning of Sept. 19 at one of the company’s four facilities in Playa Vista, Calif. According to NBC 4, the heat inside the facility became too much for firefighters, and they were forced to leave. It took 100 firefighters two hours to finally extinguish the blaze.
No employees were harmed, and Innovation Line has provided updates on its website, as the company works to maintain operations.
“Fortunately, we were able to salvage a substantial amount of inventory and were able to relocate operations to a temporary location,” said David Kagel, chief operating officer for Innovation Line, in a statement on Sept. 23. “Due to the incredible team of managers and dedicated staff, we have made a tremendous amount of progress in the past couple of days, and feel very optimistic about resuming operations to full capacity very shortly.”
The company is hoping to get its phone system back up and running in the near future. It estimated that 80 percent of inventory survived the fire, and, through working with all overseas vendors, it estimated that it will have 90 percent of inventory back by mid-October.
