Justin Bieber has been the catalyst for a lot of trends in the 21st Century. His swoopy bangs he wore at the start of his career were ubiquitous in high schools. Since then, his clothing choices (vintage-looking Slayer T-shirts, old-fashioned glasses and baggy shorts) have been copied and reported on in fashion blogs. But his latest choice is a little more confusing.
The Biebs is all about hotel slippers right now. No, he’s not wearing incredibly expensive Louis Vuitton slippers. We mean he’s literally wearing terry slippers straight from a hotel room.
It’s not just a one-time thing where he maybe forgot his sneakers during a trip or just had to run down the street to grab a gallon of milk. He’s been spotted trouncing around New York City in them multiple times, according to GQ.

Look, the man just wants to be comfortable. Can we blame him for that? I don’t think so. Some publications, like Elle, have tried to pinpoint his reasoning for this current phase.
Some of our favorites include “He enjoys the sensation of hot, New York City puddle water soaking through his socks” and “He doesn’t know how to tie his shoes.” The most reasonable explanation from Elle is probably this one: “He’s getting his money’s worth, á la Ross Geller:”

Everyone loves giveaways, and just because Bieber is ultra-famous and mega-rich doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy some free slippers from time to time.
And, because he’s ultra-famous and has a bajillion followers on social media, it’d be naive to think that terry slippers won’t become one of the hottest footwear trends for the end of summer and beginning of fall.
