Weddings, or any events for that matter, are different in 2019. There’s no longer just one person taking pictures. The music is probably different. And at some weddings, the gifts for attendees are things like vape pens and personalized hoodies. That last one is at least true for Marc Jacobs and his now-husband Charly Defrancesco.
According to Vanity Fair, each attendee at the swanky event left with a sweatshirt embroidered with otters with the message “don’t float away,” and a tag that read “I came to Marc and Char’s wedding and all I got was this lousy sweatshirt.” The design was created by tattoo artist Scott Campbell.

The two newlyweds even addressed the hoodie giveaway in their speech:
Thank you to each and every one of you, our family, who have come from near and far, far and wide to celebrate with us tonight. Everyone in this room has played such an important part in our lives, you all mean so much to us. We could not have asked for a greater gift than your presence in celebrating and dancing the night away. So drink, eat, dance, check out the photo booth. Grab a hoodie on your way out.
That’s not all, though. Given the increasing legality of recreational marijuana usage, getting a branded vaporizer isn’t out of the question. Attendees received a cannabis vape pen in “Marc and Char” branded boxes. Maybe the point is to remind us to fill our lives with plenty of laughter and plenty of good food, as any good wedding has. In this case, attendees can just keep the laughing and eating going after the wedding is over and in the comfort of their own home (or local Taco Bell).
