Aside from Promo Marketing’s own Philadelphia Eagles, no National Football League (NFL) team experienced a more pulsating 2018 postseason slate than the Jacksonville Jaguars. The American Football Conference South Division champs dumped the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers, the latter in a 45-42 shootout, to advance to the conference championship tilt versus the New England Patriots. They dropped that game 24-20, with the result making even more frustrating a recent NFL Shop gaffe that paired a Jags fan with a jersey featuring not only his team’s logo but also that of the Pats.

Jacksonville has fielded a squad since 1995, and Tim Richert has followed it for the entire stretch, with last year’s 10-6 mark representing the Jaguars’ first winning season since 2007. Expectations are obviously high for the club to do even better this campaign, and the super fan sought to add to his collection by ordering a customized jersey. What arrived Thursday, though, somehow ended up acknowledging his team’s most recent vanquisher, leading him to dub it an “atrocity.”
We completely feel his pain not only as end-users but as fellow pigskin devotees. The Jaguars-Patriots championship game was not for the faint of heart, and since the matchup included some controversial elements, one could certainly see how Richert and his peers would be irate over any miscue that would make it seem as if they hold allegiance to the Patriots.
Thanks to a team representative, the disgruntled supporter soon received the proper attire, noting that he might retain the erroneous jersey as “a talking piece.” We commend him for that, because we know that if we had placed an order for Eagles apparel and had received something referencing, say, the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants or Washington Redskins (we just had a daymare about a product that would include all three of them), we would send that sucker right back or even destroy it so as not to subject other eyes to it.
The Jaguars will host the Patriots on Sept. 16, so Richert will not have long to hope that his No. 75 top proves a good luck charm as the Jaguars look to secure their second all-time triumph against their vaunted visitors.
