PepsiCo.’s new drink, which takes on a healthier appearance than customers are used to, is such a new development for the company that it literally had to design a brand new bottle for it to work.
The new product, which is called Drinkfinity, isn’t carbonated and features healthy ingredients like chia seeds. To drink it, customers insert pods (which are for sale at the Drinkfinity site) that contain dry and liquid ingredients.
Drinkfinity could be your next fix! @PepsiCo’s newest product is a reusable water bottle that comes with flavour pods. Only question left: Mango Chia Flow or Pineapple Coconut Water? https://t.co/OXGcT8RoVj

The biggest thing here isn’t the drink itself—it’s the container. Some people might see it as a bummer that they need to buy a special bottle just for a glorified flavored water, but the bottle is reusable, so that’s one thing it has going for it.
It also allows Pepsi to cut down on packaging that would come with a regular 20 oz. bottle. One neat feature in the new bottles is a magnet on the side of the bottle that allows users to keep the lid in place when they unscrew it, per Delish.
The bottle, which Drinkfinity calls the “Vessel,” is available for $20, and the pods range from about $5 to $6.50.
A product that requires adding ingredients to water is nothing especially noteworthy on its own, but the fact that the company has created its own bottle that must be used for it creates brand identity. The fact that it’s reusable for other things, like drinking plain water or literally any other liquid, will only add to that brand awareness as people see that bottle around in the world.
