Pepsi’s Branded Home Spa Kit Is Here to Help You Relax (and Smell Like Pepsi)

I think we can all agree that we’re due for a spa day. This year has been stressful to say the least, and we deserve some R&R.

But, like so many other things, it’s hard to get to a spa. A lot of them are closed right now. And if you live in a place where they’ve been allowed to stay open, it’s not quite as relaxing as it once was.

But Pepsi, of all companies, is giving customers the chance to get that spa-quality relaxation they so desperately need while getting its own logo out there with a branded spa kit.

According to Marketing Dive, Pepsi launched a sweepstakes last week where customers could tweet the #PepsiSpa hashtag and tag a friend. If they’re selected, they’ll receive a Pepsi-branded spa kit that includes a Pepsi-scented sugar scrub, a Pepsi Blue face mask and a Pepsi-scented bath bomb.

The bath bomb is also designed to look like the Pepsi logo, which is pretty genius.

This giveaway really hinges on Pepsi’s confidence in customer loyalty. You have to really love Pepsi to want to smell like it all day. But, if you’re committed enough to try to win a Pepsi-branded spa kit, you’re probably alright with it. It’s definitely better than taking an actual bath in Pepsi.

“The brand crafted the kit items to reflect the soda brand’s iconic bubbles, color and textures, with each item in the kit coming in eco-friendly packaging,” Marketing Dive reported.

Staying at home and being stressed out have been the themes of plenty of marketing campaigns this year—for good reason. Sports fans are sad they’re missing out on the stadiums, families miss having big cookouts, and reading the news some days feels extra stressful. A spa kit is something everyone can use from the safety of home to get into a calmer mindset and enjoy some self-care.

The vaccine news is promising, but the reality is that it’s not a magic snap-your-fingers-and-this-all-goes-away situation. We’re going to need to be patient and wait this whole thing out just like before while the medical community rolls out the vaccine. Because of that, kits for home are going to still be popular even after the vaccine is initially rolled out to the first recipients.
