In the 12 months since Ottawa-based supplier PowerStick began partnering with the nonprofit One Tree Planted to plant one tree for every order received, it has been responsible for planting 10,000 trees across North America. The trees have been planted in Canada (New Brunswick, Ontario and British Columbia), in the U.S. (California, Idaho, Oregon and across Appalachia), and in Mexico.
One Tree Planted is an organization dedicated to global reforestation. Working with its more than 266 planting partners, it helps to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for wildlife. Since its founding in 2014, the nonprofit has planted more than 40,000,000 trees in 47 countries.
“It’s rewarding to know that PowerStick has a part in a program that makes such a huge impact on our planet, and I’m grateful to our distributor clients who have made our donations possible,” said PowerStick CEO Nigel Harris. “In the year that we’ve offered to plant a tree for every order received, we’ve heard from distributors how valuable this program is to them and their clients. We are often asked for a flyer or to provide more information so distributors can share it with their clients. We’ve even been asked about tucking a custom card explaining the program into each box of kitted tech products in a recent order.”
