PPAChicago, the promotional products association of Chicago, has recently announced Dona Blunt, MAS, as its presidents award recipient. Blunt is a promotional products veteran, having started in the industry in 1979. She started working for an existing distributor company and then left to start Newport Promotional Services in 1985. In 2010 Newport Promotions became an authorized dealer for Kaeser & Blair of Batavia, Ohio.
Dona served on the PPAChicago board for a total of six years, two as a director, two as vice president, and was than elected as PPAChicago’s 19th President in 1990. Dona was the assistant to the End-User Show Director for four years in the ’90s and has continued as a volunteer for the current End User Show at Arlington Park Racetrack.
Continuing education is important to Dona and she attends many of PPAC’s education seminars and webinars. She is a past winner of a PPAChicago Education Scholarship.
In her non-working time, Dona practices yoga and is an artist, painting in the medium of pastels. Her work is on display at an artist co-op gallery in Long Grove. Dona and her husband Jay enjoy reading, bicycling and gardening as well as taking photos and videos of their travels.
Founded in 1957, PPAChicago is a trade association, comprised of distributors and suppliers of promotional products, with the purpose of promoting the general welfare among Distributor and Supplier members, and to provide educational opportunities and organized social events.
