For the third consecutive year, Prime Line, Bridgeport, Conn., the hard goods division of alphabrorder, sponsored Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Project, which doles out turkeys; bags of Thanksgiving fixings; and winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves to 3,200 families in need in Fairfield County.
“The Great Thanksgiving Event is an amazing opportunity for Prime to partner with The Bridgeport Rescue Mission,” said Maria Koppy, vice president of organizational development for Prime Line. “We honor the mission year-round, as they extend kindness on a daily basis to our local community. In addition to donating items, our employees appreciate the cherished hands-on volunteer experience they take away from this event. Our goal is to create an awareness within our company, to serve others and to support important causes.”
Distribution for the Thanksgiving project took place over six days, Nov. 14 to 20, at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport. Prime donated 5,000 tote bags, and several employees were on-site helping in a variety of ways, including handing out food and helping guests shop for coats. David Bennett was one of Prime’s volunteers.
“I had a very good time, and once again feel validated in joining the Prime family,” Bennett said. “It feels great to work in a place that routinely gives back to its community.”
Prime Line has supported the Bridgeport Rescue Mission since 2014 with ongoing donations of blankets, bags, hats and hot cocoa.
“We are grateful for caring companies like Prime Line who are committed to serving our community and ensuring that no need goes unmet this Thanksgiving”, said Bridgeport Rescue Mission executive director Terry Wilcox.
Prime and the Lederer family have established a rich tradition of supporting both industry and community causes, such as the Promotional Products Education Foundation, the Breast Cancer Alliance, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Susan’s Rock – Stand Strong Against Domestic Violence, and others.
