The QCA process is extensive. It requires a third‐party audit of every step of the manufacturing process and the supply chain. The process takes many months to complete. The monitored areas include product safety, quality assurance, social accountability, supply chain safety and environmental stewardship.

Chicago‐based QCA is a non‐profit accreditation organization founded in 2008 with a goal of raising the standards for manufacturers of promotional products. Earning accreditation involves an extensive list of requirements based on state and national laws, international standards and industry best practices.
