Safeguard vice president R. Scott Sutton recently announced that DocuSource, a Safeguard company, has completed its acquisition of Portland, Oregon-based Formit Print Management (Formit). Founded in 1995 by industry-veteran Jeff Larson, Formit provides print, promotional products, apparel and fulfillment services to a wide range of customers in the Pacific Northwest. Terms of the acquisition were not announced.
“Jeff Larson (Formit President) and his team are passionate about what they do—solving the problems and maximizing growth needs with each and every customer,” Scott Sutton, vice president of franchise development for Safeguard, said. “We’re excited to have this culture of commitment and enthusiasm integrate into our DocuSource business, where the culture is powerfully customer-focused.”
Safeguard first acquired DocuSource in May 2013 as part of its industry-leading business acquisitions and mergers strategy (known as “BAM”). Formit will be integrated into DocuSource over the next several months. The combined forces of DocuSource and Formit, under the Safeguard umbrella, will further strengthen Safeguard’s leading position in the region for helping customers run and grow their businesses. Since 2008, the Safeguard business acquisitions and mergers team has completed over 80 transactions involving some of the most respected enterprises in the industry, including seven of the Top 50 Distributors, as published by Print Solutions magazine. In 2014, as a result of the success generated by the BAM strategy, Safeguard became the first company in the industry to receive a coveted Dealmaker of the Year award by Franchise Times magazine.
