Once the Super Bowl is over, sports fans can start buying all the official championship gear that’s ready to print the second the final whistle blows. But, what about the people who only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials? What do they get?
Usually, nothing. But this year is different. Samuel Adams went all out commemorating its “your cousin from Boston” Wicked Hazy IPA Super Bowl commercial with an entire merchandise line that rivals anything the Buccaneers put together.

Like when we saw the Jason Alexander Hoodie commercial, we immediately thought, “I wonder if that stuff is real.” Unlike Jason Alexander Hoodie, it actually is 100 percent real. All of it. Even the ring, which is, in fact, gold-plated with diamonds.

Could it be Bostonians having a physical reaction of seeing Tom Brady and Gronk win a Super Bowl in a different team’s uniform, and looking to celebrate something local during the Super Bowl?
Bro, what do you mean Tom and Gronk didn’t win for the Pats, bro? I’m watching the Super Bowl. There they are. They won, bro. What do you mean it’s not the Pats, bro? I need to buy something like when we won last time! Tommy won again, so the Patriots won, didn’t they? DIDN’T THEY? It’s Tom…but it’s….AGHHHHHHH
That’s pretty much how we imagine things are going up in New England right now. So, good move on Sam Adams’ behalf taking advantage of the whole of New England’s existential crisis.

Also, good on Sam Adams for donating 100% of the proceeds from these items toward the Restaurant Strong Fund to help restaurants stay afloat during the pandemic.
As proud, tax-paying Philadelphians, we’re hesitant to give Boston too much credit for anything (41-33).
But, credit where it’s due, Sam Adams might really be Beer Commercial Champions this year. We could totally see this setting a precedent for even more all-out promos from Sam Adams next year, or even some healthy competition from other breweries to tie in promotional items with a commercial.
