Our Favorite Halloween Giveaways From Around the Web

Boo! Did I get you? I bet I did. You should have seen your face. Classic.

Today is, without a doubt, the spookiest day of the year. All of the ghouls and goblins are coming out of the woodwork to haunt neighborhood streets and demand candy for their trouble. “But those aren’t real ghouls, Brendan,” you say. “Those are just children in costume.” Sure, let’s say 90 percent are just the neighborhood kids, but they’re looking for free stuff just like the real ghouls and goblins—which, if you did the math before, make up 10 percent of those demanding treats.

So, thankfully, some businesses have planned giveaway treats to satisfy the Halloween-spirited masses, lest they find themselves on the receiving end of a dreaded trick.

Here are some of our favorites:

1. KFC Restaurants in Romania’s “Vampire Repellant” Garlic Sauce

Everybody knows that Dracula is from Romania, so that’s pretty much the hub of vampiric activity. To help its citizens, KFC restaurants in Romania is giving out a special edition garlic sauce, which it says is “100 percent vampire repellent” and “goes extremely well with chicken.”

2. Free Trick-or-Treat Bags

What Halloween experience is complete without trick-or-treating? To help kids (and maybe some teenagers who still feel that it’s appropriate to go trick-or-treating), restaurants like Shoney’s and Tijuana Flats are giving out limited quantities of branded trick-or-treat bags at participating locations, per USA Today. For those who want something a bit sturdier than a bag, Krispy Kreme is giving out limited edition, glow-in-the-dark buckets. (We’re still waiting for someone to give out branded pillow cases specifically for trick-or-treating. You can carry much more with those. Trust me.)

3. “Stranger Things” Socks

The second season of the critically acclaimed Netflix show “Stranger Things” dropped last friday, and fans have been binge-watching all weekend. To celebrate (and to stay warm on these cool October evenings), fans can don these “Stranger Things” socks, which feature characters like Eleven and Barb, as well as the show’s now-iconic logo.

4. Heidi Klum’s Halloween Gift Bag

Unfortunately, it seems our invitation to Heidi Klum’s star-studded Halloween party was lost in the mail, but we can still see what those who did attend got in their gift bags, thanks to Celebuzz. The bag includes chocolates, a sleeping mask, lotion, body wash, makeup remover (for removing that pesky face paint you put on as part of your costume), and more.

Happy Halloween, everybody!
