The Campbell’s Chunky Soup Merch Collection Is Small But Clever

The Campbell Soup Company has been benevolent to bowls for 150 years, and many appetites have found satisfaction in the Chunky Soup offerings that “eat like a meal.” Those options within the company’s product line inspired a tiny, but nonetheless impressive, branded merch collection that will heat up the competition for end-users’ attention as the holiday season unfolds. Yes, there are sporks involved.

Nobody needs to spoon-feed us about the influx of customized food apparel that’s been hitting the market as of late, so it is fitting on Campbell’s part to make Chunky Soup a heavy favorite to be a quick entrant into the world of branded merch. Through Thursday, seven items are waiting to bowl over the competition and make showing allegiance to Chunky Soup a fun, at times eccentric, endeavor.

Ranging from the $5 spork to the $48 sleevie blanket, the products are ready to take their places as holiday gifts or as presents to oneself, with the slippers striking us as a perfect treat for tired feet. We could easily see someone donning them as that person heads to the kitchen to retrieve the contents of a Chunky Soup can from a stove or microwave. Coupling the footwear with the soup-holding gloves, end-users will likely never let their enthusiasm for the duo cool off for as long as they adore soup.

But the real highlight, of course, is the dad hat with built-in spork-holder:

As for the other products and what they say about branded merchandise and consumers’ affinity for it, the Chunk Belt—a belt holster for a can of soup—should draw a few laughs and makes us want to know everyone who purchases one and how it goes over in public. And there’s an embroidered crewneck sweatshirt that nails the vintage look. We consider ourselves pretty impressionable, so the thought of getting decked out in Chunky Soup gear while relaxing with a bowl of soup, no matter where we are, might make us finally part with some of our worn-out tops.

We’ll never part with our ugly sweaters, though. Like every other one, those things are priceless.
