If you’ve gone skiing or snowboarding within the last decade or so, you’ve probably seen at least one person (probably in the terrain park) wearing a sports jersey. Specifically, NBA jerseys are strangely tied to modern ski fashion.
Knowing this, the Utah Jazz partnered with nearby Snowbird Resort to create co-branded Jazz/Snowbird apparel, which will be on sale in shops at Snowbird as well as in the Utah Jazz store.
We are thrilled to announce the first collab between the Jazz Team Store and @snowbird! Now combing the 2 very best parts of Utah. Following in the footsteps of other recent branded apparel releases, the “capsule” drop is a limited-time thing, and includes the jersey, three different hats, a beanie and a City Edition long-sleeve shirt.
“It’s wonderful for two legacy institutions to celebrate Utah together,” Morgan Evans, vice president of retail operations for the Utah Jazz, told ABC 4. “We are proud of our state, and this co-branded apparel is an ideal way to showcase our identity in sports and recreation.”

The collection works so well because the two brands used what unites them: local pride and a mountain motif already used by the Jazz in the past.
And it’s a good lesson for other sports franchises to reach out to local businesses for collaborative effort. It’s mutually beneficial. Skiers can show off their Jazz fandom, and basketball fans can celebrate a piece of Utah culture.
Every team has something like that, and the addition of those “City Edition” uniforms that add even more local flair to the NBA uniform lays the groundwork for teams to work with local brands and businesses that encapsulate the city’s vibe.
Making the release limited and using a word like “capsule” will make people want to buy it even more.
