Beacon Promotions Buys Land, Buildings

Beacon Promotions, New Ulm, Minn., recently purchased adjoining land and buildings in New Ulm in an effort to expand the business. The company now owns 8.0 acres of land and 54,500 sq. ft. of building space. In 2005, Beacon Promotions added an additional 15,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and manufacturing space to keep up with the growing business and expanding product lines. “We continue to need additional space for both manufacturing and warehousing, and this purchase allows us space to keep moving forward,” said Kevin Poirier, senior vice president of operations. “This ensures our capability to deliver quality product on time for our distributors.”

Judge Dismisses Norwood Lawsuit Against Beacon Promotions

Judge Michael Davis of the United States District Court in Minneapolis dismissed all counts against Beacon Promotions, New Ulm, Minn., and several of its employees in a two-year old trade secrets/copyright infringement case brought by Indianapolis-based Norwood Promotional Products. The court ruled that none of the information, which Norwood claimed had been misappropriated, qualified for trade-secret protection and that Norwood had failed to demonstrate evidence indicating misconduct on the part of any Beacon employee.
