Art Olsen, president/CEO of Beacon Promotions, New Ulm, Minn., recently announced the acquisition of Four Star Incentives, Niles, Ill. Four Star is known for its name brand products, including Waterford Crystal, Mag-Lite flashlights, Sony electronics, Thomson (RCA & GE) electronics, Bulova watches and clocks, Wittnauer watches, Citizen watches, Canon digital cameras and camcorders, Lenox China and other internationally recognized brands.
The acquisition was completed on October 5, and all operations were moved to Beacon’s headquarters and production site in New Ulm. Gary Haley, senior vice president of sales, said, “The Four Star Line has a very strong product offering of international name brand products, and we are pleased to have completed this move in time for the fall gift-giving, awards and recognition season. Distributors have come to trust and respect the customer service and on-time delivery Beacon Promotions has provided, and we are confident we will deliver the products on time this fall.”
One of Four Star’s former owners, Bruce Schermerhorn, has accepted a position as vice president of sales at Beacon. The other owner, Gene Rontanini, plans to take some time off. Schermerhorn will remain in Illinois, assist in the transition of the Four Star business and also serve distributors selling all Beacon/Four Star products in the Great Lakes Region.
