Promo Marketing‘s annual Supplier Excellence Awards provides our readers an outlet to choose the companies they think have the best products, turnover time and customer service. For 2011, we have expanded the award categories, offering a massive 43 sections of best-selling products and suppliers. We split formally combined categories like writing instruments into smaller sub-groups and also added completely new categories like apparel, uniforms. These new divisions of products allowed previously unrecognized companies to emerge as winners, and also reflects the progress of the promotional products industry in the last year.
Despite stricter regulations on the safety and sales of promotional products, 2010 and the first half of 2011 have shown a sales resurgence in the industry. The returning fiscal strength of the industry is evident in Promo Marketing‘s list of the top 50 suppliers, which is based on 2010 revenue numbers. Overall, the top 50 suppliers raked in over $500,000,000 more than they did in 2009. These companies have increased their margins, upped the interest in their products and committed themselves to making it through the financial crises stronger than before, and they are being rewarded for it.
Even though the numbers are not where they used to be, this increase shows the possibility of further growth in the future. We may have a long way to go, but the first glorious signs of post-recession days are upon us, so savor them and savor the sales.
