LAT Apparel (asi/65948) has a new owner, but she’s a longtime leader at the company.
The Ball Ground, GA-headquartered apparel supplier shared this week that Gina Watson, who has been with the company since 1992, has become the new majority owner of LAT Apparel.
Watson, who was most recently CEO, has also stepped into the position of company chair. Heather Davis remains a minority owner, the firm noted.
Amid the ownership change, LAT Apparel announced promotions within its leadership team, too.
Jon Hays, previously president and chief operating officer, is rising to the role of chief executive officer. Hays, who the company said has 31 years of apparel industry experience, has been with LAT since 2016.
In addition, Jeremy Wingo, previously controller and with LAT for nearly 13 years, is now chief operating officer.
Completing the executive team: Rachel Newman, who joined in March, is chief commercial officer, bringing what LAT described as more than 25 years of experience in driving strategic growth and brand evolution. Mickie Schneider, a team member since 1982, will continue as a managing member.
LAT Apparel operates under distinct brands that include Live and Tell by L.A.T., which caters to both adults and youth, and Rabbit Skins, which features wearables for infants and toddlers.
“This leadership transition aims to fortify Live and Tell and Rabbit Skins’ mission of providing exceptional products that enhance the wearer’s experience, emphasizing the company’s dedication to growth, innovation and excellence,” the firm said in a statement.
