Ward/Kraft Expands Mag Stripe Options

Ft. Scott, Kansas-based Ward/Kraft Inc. announced proprietary improvements to the company’s coating and mag stripe capabilities. The improvements will enable distributors to offer more mag stripe options and eco-friendly, holographic, green coating on CR-80 and larger plastic composite materials. Distributors can now offer green plastic card hologram coatings and a mag stripe on a wide range of 20 and 30 mm plastic products including postcard mailers in 4×5.5″, 3.5×7.5″ and similar sizes. The company believes the improved offering puts it at the forefront of plastic product solutions within the distributor channel.

The new mag stripe capabilities enable distributors to sell postcard mailers with any size stripe applied to the postcard, expanding product usefulness for direct marketing and mailing managers and companies. The new process has already been approved by the USPS, making the product a viable, self-mailing alternative to embedded and inserted standard plastic cards.

“Our distributors want to own the growing plastic-card mailing market”, said Deb Buck, general manager of Ward/Kraft’s Commercial division. “Our release of the new mag stripe capabilities on larger USPS-approved mailers, along with our green UV coating options gives our distributors options that the market wants to buy,” continued Buck. “Our proprietary capabilities put our distributors at the front of the pack for innovative, green plastic-card mailing solutions,” Buck concluded.
