Following Samsung’s ongoing battery woes (recalls, product bans and factory fires) and reports of its chief being involved in less-than-savory behavior, the company’s reputation has plummeted, at least according to a Harris Poll.
According to UPI, Samsung fell from third place last year to 49th in terms of reputation among U.S. consumers.
The results are based on an online survey completed by more than 23,000 adults in the U.S. The survey focuses on six areas: social responsibility, vision and leadership, financial performance, products and services, workplace environment, and emotional appeal.
Contrary to Samsung’s fall from grace (and third place), Amazon secured the top spot in this year’s poll with a score of 86.27 out of 100. Apple, which held the 2nd place spot last year, placed 5th this year, with an 82.07 score.
3M company landed the 10th place spot with a score of 81.50.
U.S. consumers responded to the survey questions between Nov. 28 and Dec. 16 last year.
