The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today that 3M Promotional Products, North Mankato, Minn., is recalling its Vented Hard Hats because the items, intended to protect against electric shock, do not provide adequate protection.

The hard hats are white, have eight .75 in. ventilation slits on each side and a ratchet for adjustment. “3M” or “AOSafety” is molded into the plastic on the top of the brim, and “XLR8 VENTED” is molded into the bottom of the brim.

3M Promotional Products has not received any reports of injury or incidents, but it advised consumers to stop using the products and contact 3M for a free replacement. The recall only involves hard hats sold online at Alliedelec.com, Amazon.com and HomeDepot.com between January 2008 through April 2016.
