AAkron Line, Akron, N.Y., recently partnered with the National Association for the Exchange of Industrial Resources (NAEIR), a nonprofit that collects corporate goods and redistributes them to schools, churches and charities, to launch its GiveBack one-for-one program. Every time a customer orders a product from the GiveBack collection, AAkron will donate a similar product to a student in need.
AAkron Line has a history of charitable action. In the last 15 years, the family-owned-and-operated company has donated more than $5 million in products to NAEIR.
“We have been partnering with NAEIR for nearly 20 years now,” said Devin Piscitelli, CEO of AAkron Line. “It was time to make it more official for both our organizations.”
The GiveBack collection currently includes 30 products, all everyday supplies students and families use, such as pencils, pens, water bottles and cooler bags. It includes the company’s signature Mood Pencils, which change colors and are popular with students.
“This is product philanthropy at work,” said Gary C. Smith, president and CEO of NAEIR. “AAkron’s generous donations will make a difference in the lives of students who might not otherwise have access to such essential supplies.”
AAkron’s annual goal is to donate more than three million items to NAEIR, representing a value of more than $450,000.
