Alan Chippindale, former head of BrandAlliance, the second-largest distributor firm in Canada, has returned to Cleveland-based Proforma, where he will serve as its senior vice president of business development. Chippindale will lead the charge in launching a new bundle of distributor services exclusively for new Proforma member owners with sales ranging from $5 to $50 million. This service package, to be officially launched in January 2018, will give high-level owners premier access to Proforma’s new $10 million state-of-the-art technology platform and proprietary e-commerce solution, exclusive one-on-one meetings with the industry’s top suppliers, business development and marketing tools proven to attract top acquisition and sales representative prospects, and more.
“We are excited to welcome Alan Chippindale back to Proforma,” said Greg Muzzillo, founder of Proforma. “Alan was with Proforma in our early years, helping to attract some of the industry’s best talent to our organization. His deep knowledge of our industry, the challenges facing today’s distributors, and the support and solutions Proforma can provide will be incredibly valuable. Alan will be strategically engaging premier distributors and sales professionals with a new bundle of services exclusive to Proforma, designed to meet their specific needs. This package encompasses all the resources and technology solutions a distributor selling $5 million or more needs to take their business to the next level.”
Chippindale played an integral role in Proforma’s growth from 1987 to 2007 by helping the company successfully expand its offerings to include promotional products. Chippindale also recruited more than 25 of Proforma’s most successful million and multi-million dollar producers. Over the past 10 years, Chippindale has worked in Canada with a team of industry professionals to form, build and expand BrandAlliance, which was named one of Canada’s Best-Managed Companies by Canadian Business.
“Industry distributors ranging from $5 to $50 million in sales often desire to continue growing through value-added products and services to penetrate their key accounts, as well as through acquisitions and hiring sales teams,” said Chippindale. “But their biggest challenges are operational systems, cash flow and the working capital to develop these resources. I’m excited to be involved in developing and introducing Proforma’s new service package to the industry. This solution brings all the growth resources to the table, aligning all of the systems and capitalization support as a variable expense. In the end, we’ll be winning together.”
