Amazon Introduces One-hour Delivery Service

Amazon introduced its new Prime Now one-hour delivery service in New York City. According to a report by Wired, Amazon Prime members can order from a range of more than 25,000 items that can be delivered within an hour for a delivery fee of $7.99. For those patient customers who are willing to wait up to two hours, the delivery fee is waived.
Amazon isn’t the first company to offer this speedy delivery service. Google introduced Google Express, expanding a same-day delivery service to cities such as San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and Washington, D.C.
The service was first made available in the Manhattan neighborhood where Amazon leased a building near the Empire State Building. The service area was expanded to additional areas of Manhattan, and will continue to grow to other areas of New York City.
Amazon said that the service would be available in more cities later this year.
