The way people enjoy music changes every few years. Just starting with vinyl records, we’ve gone to 8-track players, cassettes, compact discs, then mp3’s (and then back to vinyl again). Now, we can add fidget spinners to the list.
This is where we allotted space for jokes like “This puts a whole new spin on enjoying music,” or “When we say we’re spinning a record, we mean it!” or “We have all of this music right at the tip of our fingers.”
So, now that that’s out of the way, here’s what’s going on: Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire just put our their new album, “Everything Now.” In addition to the common media—like vinyl, CD and mp3—the band sold a limited edition “Everything Now” fidget spinner that doubled as a USB stick and contained the new album. The fidget spinner costs $110.

Fidget spinners have become insanely popular in what seems like a minuscule span of time. This is interesting to see a band of such a high caliber bring it to the band merchandise world, no less in the form of premiering its new album.
At time of printing, the fidget spinner was sold out.
And they say millennials don’t want to pay for music anymore. It turns out you just have to put it on an imprinted fidget spinner to get their attention.
